EL: Partizan Mozzart Bet suffer defeat in Game 5 and lose the series against Real Madrid

Partizan Mozzart Bet dropped an 18-point lead in Game 5 and missed a huge chance to reach the 2022/23 Turkish Airlines Final Four.

Partizan Mozzart Bet won’t play at the 2022/23 Turkish Airlines Final Four as the black-and-whites suffered defeat in decisive Game 5 of the Playoffs and lost this thrilling series against Real Madrid by 2-3.

The Belgrade squad will certainly have some sleepless nights in the following days due to this defeat as they were so close to stun the Spanish giant once again and win the last remaining Final Four ticket. Partizan Mozzart Bet were up by 16 at the halftime (55:39), while they kept pushing in the 2nd half in which they reached their biggest lead in this game (59:41). The Belgrade team had a 15-point lead (75:60), with just minute-and-a-half left to be played in the 3rd quarter… But, that is the moment Real Madrid started their big comeback.

The home team have managed to reduce the gap to just 7 points in the remaining time of the 3rd quarter – 76:69, while they needed just 5 minutes in the 4th period to take over the lead – 86:83.

With two veterans Sergio Rodriguez and Sergio Llull on fire in those moments, Real Madrid went on to grab a 9-point lead – 97:88, with just 2 minutes left on the game clock.

But, that was still not the end of this thrilling game. Partizan Mozzart Bet have managed to cut the gap to just 3 points – 97:94, while the black-and-whites even had a shot to tie the game and perhaps force overtime. However, their today’s top scorer Kevin Punter missed a 3-point shot just 24 seconds before the end of the game.

In the following play, Mario Hezonja scored one out of two free throws to make the final score – 98:94 for Real Madrid.
