AdmiralBet ABA League Semifinals Round 1, Sunday, 28 May 2023:

PARTIZAN MOZZART BET – CEDEVITA OLIMPIJA

Where? Štark Arena, Belgrade

When? 19:30

Story of the game: After their successful Quarterfinals campaigns, where both Partizan Mozzart Bet and Cedevita Olimpija have edged out their respective opponents SC Derby and FMP Soccerbet in three games, their mission to reach the Finals of the 2022/23 season begins in Belgrade.

In Game 1, Partizan Mozzart Bet, that finished the Regular Season in the first place, will be hosting Cedevita Olimpija, the fourth-placed team in the Regular Season. In the first part of the season, each of the two squads have won 1 mutual encounter, both have done it on the home court, so it is really difficult to predict who would be able to come out on top this time, as they meet in Štark Arena.

Cedevita Olimpija are chasing their first Finals since the merger of Cedevita Zagreb and Petrol Olimpija, while on the other side, Partizan Mozzart Bet have an aim to reach the trophy series for the second time in a row.

What the black and white are counting on is for sure the fact that it has been difficult for Cedevita Olimpija to triumph in Belgrade so far, as in four games played in Belgrade, the Dragons have celebrated once. However, over the past two seasons, Cedevita Olimpija have won 3 out of 4 mutual encounters against Partizan Mozzart Bet in the AdmiralBet ABA League. How will it end this time?

Match-up in focus: Perhaps the key match-up of the game can be the one between two big men – Mathias Lessort of Partizan Mozzart Bet on the home side and Alen Omić of the visiting side. Currently, both of them are the top rebounders of their respective squads, with Lessort averaging 5.2 rebounds per game and Omić 8.6. Lessort is also the second-leading scorer of Partizan Mozzart Bet with an average of 10 points per game, while Omić occupies the third place on the side of Cedevita Olimpija, averaging 11.7 points per game.

Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 3:5; in Belgrade 3:1.
