Zadar has started their training camp for the new season with their first practice in Krešimir Ćosić hall today. Marko Ramljak, Karlo Žganec, Arijan Lakić, Patrik Jambrović, Antonio Sikirić, Krševan Klarica, Ivan Njegovan, Vice Grbić, and Luka Bilokapić hit the court today. Due to recent national team commitments, Dario Drežnjak and Lovro Mazalin will join the team later, Adem Mekić due to family reasons, and Josip Badrak due to injury.
The biggest unknown is the possible signing of Luka Božić, who received an offer from Zadar but is still considering offers from other clubs.
- Compared to last season, we are without Čampara, Šantelje, Davis, and for now Božić. To replace the players leaving us we brought in Mazalin and Jambrović. The budget has increased somewhat, but the prices of the players have also grown much more. If Luka doesn't sign with us, it won't be easy. EuroLeague teams are interested in him. We offered him the most we can considering our budget because he deserved it, he is the trademark of Zadar and I hope we will see him there, coach Danijel Jusup added.
Until mid-August, training will occur in the hall, the gym, and on the track. The first preseason match is set to take place on August 23 against the Brigham Young University Cougars, the college team where Krešimir Ćosić used to play. One of those who will defend the colors of Zadar in that match will be captain Marko Ramljak.
- I am glad that we gathered a lot of guys from last year, we will work hard and try to repeat the result we had last season, we had both a good result and good chemistry in the team. There will be no lack of energy and good spirit this year, I hope we will go far, said Ramljak.
