Montenegro made a perfect start at the 2023 FIBA World Cup as they defeated Mexico by 91:71.

The 2nd and the 4th quarter turned out to be the key periods in this match. Montenegro won the 2nd quarter by 29:20 to gain a 9-point lead at the halftime, while then they won the 4th quarter 23:13 to definitely seal their win in the opening round of the tournament.

Montenegrin center and the Chicago Bulls star Nikola Vučević was the key man on the court today. Vučević put on a double-double performance with 27 points and 10 rebounds, while he missed just 4 shots for the entire game (8/12 FG2, 3/3 FG3, 2/2 FT).

Montenegro will play against Egypt on Sunday in the 2nd round of the first phase.
