#FIBAWC: Serbia and Slovenia grab victories at the World Cup opening

In their opening games at the FIBA World Cup, Serbia and Slovenia have both achieved victories, by topping China and Venezuela, respectively.

Slovenia have easily showed off Venezuela and are atop of Group F after the first round. The Venezuelans remained close until midway through the first half, as they led after the first quarter 31:33, but afterwards the 2017 EuroBasket champions took control of the game and prevailed in the end with the score of 100:85. For the winning side Luka Dončić led the way in scoring with 36 points on his record. The new Crvena zvezda Meridianbet addition Mike Tobey added 23.

In the other game of the day, Serbia have been too strong for China, as they have dominated the game all game long. Serbia were ahead by 21 points by the big break (55:34) and continued to cruise towards the victory in the end with the final score 105:63. For Serbia, Nikola Milutinov has been the most efficient. He contributed 20 points to the success of his team, while Bogdan Bogdanović contributed 16.
