Serbia have finished the 2023 FIBA World Cup with the silver medals in their bags as they lost the final against Germany by 83:77.

Serbia have finished the 2023 FIBA World Cup with the silver medals in their bags as they lost the final against Germany by 83:77.

It was a game worth of the big final. Two fantastic teams fought hard until the end, while this time Germany had more concentration and a little bit more luck, so they seized the win.

Germany escaped on a double-digit lead in the 3rd quarter – 69:57, but Serbia managed to get back in this game and to reduce the gap to just 3 points at the start of the final minute – 78:75.

Serbia had a big chance to tie the score in the following play, but Marko Gudurić missed a wide-open 3-point shot from the corner.

On the other side of the court, Dennis Schroder made one out of two free throws for 79:75, while then Marko Gudurić scored two free throws to put Serbia just two points behind Germany – 79:77.

But, Serbia’s major comeback was stopped by Dennis Schroder who stepped up for his team in key moment and made the decisive lay-up that put Germany back at a 4-point lead – 81:77. In the remaining 20 seconds, Schroder scored two more free throws to make the final score – 83:77 for Germany.
