Story of the game: In the opening game of the AdmiralBet ABA League 2023/24 season, Split will be hosting SC Derby at home in Split Sports Hall.
It is a game, where the Dalmatian side will have an honour to open their regional season in the game against the newly inaugurated ABA Super Cup Winners, that have sensationally taken the trophy in recent tournament in Morača Sports Hall in Podgorica, ahead of the start of the AdmiralBet ABA League season, by beating Partizan Mozzart Bet in the Final.
In preseason, Split have won 2 of their 4 games, while expectedly, SC Derby have demonstrated a good shape, winning 5 out of their 6 preseason contests.
Match-up in focus: Perhaps the most interesting clash will be the one between Lovre Runjić, a home-grown Split player, that is becoming a leader of the Dalmatian squad and Aubrey Dawkins, who arrived to SC Derby this summer from Frutti Extra Bursaspor and has immediately, at the ABA Super Cup Tournament, proven himself to be a valuable addition to the SC Derby squad.
