Game recap: Igokea m:tel have seized their first win in the 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League season as they defeated Split on the road.

The visitors have prevailed in a thrilling ending in which Edin Atić and Marko Jeremić scored 5 consecutive points for the Laktaši troops to definitely seal the win for their team. Yet, we also have to mention the role of Stefan Moody who scored 16 out of his 19 points in the 2nd half to lead Igokea m:tel’s comeback.

On the other side, Split will definitely be disappointed after their 2nd consecutive defeat at home court at the start of the new season. The home team had an 8-point lead at the halftime this evening, however they then conceded 54 points in the 2nd half and eventually they lost another thriller in their home gym.

Key moments: At the start of the last minute, Igokea m:tel were just 1 point ahead – 89:88, while their offensive play did not look like it will end with precious points. But, then Edin Atić stepped up for the away side. Atić pulled up from way downtown and scored the key 3-pointer for Igokea m:tel – 92:88. In the following play, Stefan Moody managed to steal the ball from Split’s players and although he missed the lay-up in fastbreak, Marko Jeremić was there to pick up an offensive rebound and to seal the win for the visitors with an easy 2-pointer – 94:88.

Man of the match: Without any doubt, this award belongs to Igokea m:tel summer signing Stefan Moody this evening. Moody scored 19 points (16 in the 2nd half), he delivered 7 assists, while his overall index rating was 21.

Can’t trick the stats: The two sides were very close in every stats column, so the thing that decided the winner today was that 5:0 run that Igokea m:tel made in the final minute of the game.
