Karlo Matković has proven, throughout the month of November, his dominance on the AdmiralBet ABA League courts wherever he has appeared and besides the fact that he finished the month near the very top of the statistical category of valuation, he deserved himself the award with his contribution to the team's success – Cedevita Olimpija have been undefeated in that period and are placed in the upper half of the standings.

The big man in the ranks of the Ljubljana squad averaged 18.5 points, 8 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 1.5 blocks and a valuation of 27 during the games of Zadar in September and October.

Cedevita Olimpija big man believes that the role, that he has been given ahead of this season is the key to his high-end performances right now: “This season I am the starting center of our team and this means that my role on the team is pretty bigger. My main task is to be a force on the defensive end, and to give energy to the team, both on defense and offense. I wish to get back to court as soon as possible after my back injury and to give everything I can, to help team continue winning.”

The Ljubljana bench has been taken over by the experienced Italian tactician Simone Pianigiani and it seems that he had an important role in helping Matković achieve his peak: “Head coach and I are in a good relationship and I believe that he is happy with the way I work in practices and games. At the same time I feel that he believes in me.”

However, it seems that Karlo’s performances have bounced upwards especially since Klemen Prepelič arrived to Ljubljana. The two seem to be a fantastic connection and the big guy confirms our thoughts: “Klemen is a type of player, that suits my game just perfectly, and it is the same the other way around as well. I am happy that he has joined our team and brought in extra energy and experience. I respect Klemen very much and I am grateful for the additional quality, that he delivered to our team. This is also evident from the level of my performances.”

Karlo Matković does not hide that the Dragons are satisfied with the way their season is going. They are currently in the middle of the five-games long winning streak in the AdmiralBet ABA League, including recent big wins against Partizan Mozzart Bet and Budućnost VOLI and they certainly have no intention of stopping here: “We are truly satisfied with our current position in the regional competition. I hope that we will continue playing the same way until the end of the season and that we will not slow down at any point.”
