EC: Budućnost VOLI and Cedevita Olimpija defeated in close encounters

Budućnost VOLI have suffered a home defeat in a close game vs. U-BT Cluj-Napoca in a game, where they have been a better of the two squads throughout the majority of the playing time, but allowed the visitors to dominate the court in the final quarter and grab the win in the end. The squad, led from the bench by head coach Andrej Žakelj, has been up by 3 points after the first quarter, by 14 at halftime and still by 11 (61:50), as the two squads headed into the final quarter. In the latter, U-BT Cluj-Napoca prevailed by no less than 13 points (16:29) and snatched the win with the final score of 77:79. For Budućnost VOLI, Brandon Paul and Petar Popović have been the most efficient, as they scored 13 points each.

Cedevita Olimpija keep chasing their first win in the BKT EuroCup Regular Season. This time, they have been defeated on the road in Riga against Prometey Slobozhanske. The Dragons, that have arrived in Latvia without several players, have started the game on a better note and were up by 6 points after the first quarter (24:30), but the hosts turned the things around in the second quarter and departed to the big break with a 5-point lead (60:55). The second half did not bring another comeback and Prometey prevailed with the final score of 105:100 For Cedevita Olimpija, Jaka Blažič led the way in scoring with 26 points on his record. Justin Cobbs added 23.
