The ABA Liga family is deeply saddened by the too-early passing of Dejan Milojević, we express our deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Dejan was a player, coach, and most importantly a great man, he gave us many legendary memories both on and off the court. As a player, he broke ABA league records that are still standing to this day, Milojević has earned himself the honor of the top scorer of the AdmiralBet ABA League in the season 2004/05, and to this date, he holds the league record in the single-game valuation, which he set on 3 January 2004 in the game of his Budućnost VOLI against Lovćen (59). Throughout his career, he was the ABA League MVP 3 seasons in a row and he dawned the jerseys of FMP, Partizan, and Budućnost. Milojević also had terrific success representing the Serbian national team winning the gold medal at the 2001 EuroBasket.

Following a stellar playing career Milojević transitioned to coaching, he became head coach of Mega MIS in 2012 and spent nearly a decade with the club. In that period he had historic results with the club, including the ABA League finals run in 2016. He made another finals appearance in the regional league but this time as the bench boss of Budućnost VOLI. Dejan’s good work in the region did not go unnoticed as he later became an assistant coach under Steve Kerr for the Golden State Warriors with whom he won an NBA Championship.

He was a man who made basketball his life and left us with unforgettable moments we will forever be thankful for.

Deki, the basketball world will not be the same without you, thank you for everything you have given us.

In honor of everything that Dejan has achieved throughout his great life and career each game of round 17 of the AdmiralBet ABA League will start with a minute of silence.

Rest in peace.
