2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League Quarterfinals Round 1, Saturday, 13 April 2024:

BUDUĆNOST VOLI – ZADAR

Where? Morača Sports Hall, Podgorica

When? 19:00

Story of the game: In the opening game of the 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League Quarterfinals, Budućnost VOLI will be hosting Zadar at home in their Morača Sports Hall in Podgorica.

It’s a game of two rivals, whose ambitions certainly do not finish in the Quarterfinals. Previously, the two squads have met each other twice in the Regular Season and Budućnost VOLI have won both times, 103:73 in Podgorica and 67:57 in Zadar.

However, when it comes to Playoffs, it’s always a brand new story and everything is possible and in Podgorica and Zadar, they are well aware of that. And both teams have demonstrated throughout the season so far, that they both can beat any rival in the competition, but that both of them have also suffered some of the unexpected defeats.

It seems that Budućnost VOLI are entering the Playoffs in somewhat better shape than Zadar. They have won their last game and have prevailed in 3 out of their last 5 games. On the other side, Zadar have won only 2 out of their last 5 games and are on a 3 games long winless streak.

Previously, Zadar have only won 3 out of 20 games played between the two squads, when they met in Morača in the AdmiralBet ABA League. How will the contest end this time?

Match-up in focus: Of course, it is the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season Top Scorer Luka Božić, who will be in focus, as he returns to Morača, where he used to play for Budućnost VOLI before. He has been averaging 20.6 points, 8 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game, as Zadar’s top scorer, rebounder and passer. It will be Fletcher Magee on the other side, that will have to try his best to outgun in scoring. It’s not mission impossible however, as Magee has been averaging a 52% shooting efficiency from beyond the arc this season (44/85). Who will lead his team to the win this time?

Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 27:13; In Podgorica 17:3.
