Svetislav Pešić's squad took control of the game right from the first quarter, they ended the first 10 minutes with a 12-point advantage. Serbia ran away with the game in the second quarter following a big 12:2 run midway through the quarter, they took a 17-point lead into the halftime break. There was no comeback for Puerto Rico as Serbia was too strong in the second half. Serbia's size played a big factor tonight, they outrebounded Puerto Rico 24:54 and even had three players with 9+ rebounds while scoring more than half their points in the paint tonight (62 points in the paint).
Nikola Jokić showed his magic on the Olympic stage, he was one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing the game with 14 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists. Filip Petrušev was stellar for Serbia tonight, he helped his team with 15 points (team-high) and 9 rebounds. Christopher Ortiz was the top scorer for Puerto Rico, scoring 19 points.
Serbia's next game is on Saturday as they take on South Sudan in their last game of Group C.
