Presenting 2024/25 AdmiralBet ABA League Teams – Budućnost VOLI

The club has kept the core of the team and the Podgorica side is entering the new season with high ambitions as always.

Last season, Budućnost VOLI finished their AdmiralBet ABA League journey at the semi-finals stage, but only after putting quite a fight against Belgrade's powerhouse Partizan Mozzart Bet. Despite that defeat, it was very obvious that the blue-and-whites are on the right path and if they continue to improve they may actually hope to repeat the historic result from 2018 when they won their only AdmiralBet ABA League championship so far.

We have to say that the team management did a tremendous job over the summer to keep the core of the team that has already showed to possess huge quality. Budućnost VOLI have continued their cooperation with head coach Andrej Žakelj, while the club extended contracts with two star point guards Yogi Ferrell and McKinley Wright IV. On top of that, the club extended contract with sharp shooter Fletcher Magee, while it also kept the three members of last-season’s starting lineup – Kenan Kamenjaš, Nikola Tanasković & Andrija Slavković, and a very useful sixth-man Aleksa Ilić.

With half of the 12-man lineup already secured, Budućnost VOLI had started working on bringing in newcomers and some very interesting names have joined the blue-and whites this summer. The Podgorica giant penned deal with Mateo Drežnjak who had a fantastic season with SC Derby last year, while they also inked contract with the Montenegrin international Đorđije Jovanović who used to play for Partizan Mozzart Bet.

Also, the three foreign players have landed in Podgorica to strenghten this new team and those are Udoka Azubuike, Juwan Morgan and Rasheed Sulaimon. The last member of the 12-man squad is youngster Petar Minić.

The squad has so far showed quite a potential in the preseason as they have won 4 out of 5 prep games this summer.

And be quite sure that this new team will only be getting better as the season progresses.
