Crvena zvezda Meridianbet suffered defeat in the friendly game against CSKA Moscow that was being played as part of the VTB Super Cup.
Zvezda played a good match against the Moscow giant, especially if we take into concern that the red-and-whites were without four very important first team players. Miloš Teodosić, Nemanja Nedović, Rokas Giedraitis and Joel Bolomboy did not travel with the team to this tournament, while in their absence the two newcomers took over the leaders role in today’s game.
Isaiah Canaan presented all of his well-known scoring skills in the match against CSKA Moscow as he dropped 21 points, while Uroš Plavišić showed that he might be a significant addition to the 2024/25 Crvena zvezda Meridianbet roster as he scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
On Friday evening, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet will play their second game at the VTB Super Cup, while their opponent will be Lokomotiv Kuban.
Krka defeated Cibona on the road in Zagreb during Thursday night preseason action 69:72. It was a close game throughout all 40 minutes, but Krka managed to hang on to the small lead they built in the third quarter. Cibona tried to mount a comeback in the final 10 minutes but was unable to overcome the deficit. Krka's newest player, Marc Garcia was their top scorer with 16 points in the win while Cibona's captain led the wolfpack with 18 points.
