Cibona will rely mostly on home-based players in the upcoming season, with some super talented kids knocking at the doors of the first team.

The first thing we have to say when introducing the 2024/25 Cibona squad is that the Wolves are entering the new season with a new head coach in charge. The club decided to put the trust in Christopher Thomas, an American coach who has already worked in the region as he was the head coach of Zaltorog Laško and an assistant in the Slovenian National Team.

With the new head coach at the helm, the Wolves started creating the new roster and their first moves were extending contracts with the three important players from the last season. Team captain Krešimir Radovčić, then Filip Bundović and Ivan Perasović have all remained in the team, while they will have the company of some old friends in the upcoming season as Domagoj Vuković and Sven Smajlagić have returned to the club this summer and they will be part of the 2024/25 roster.

On top of that, Cibona promoted some very talented domestic players into the first team. Borna Katanović, Josip Pavković, Jere Jakić and Bruno Bubalo, who were all part of the last-season U19 Cibona roster, will play for Cibona’s first team in the 2024/25 campaign.

Finally, the team also acquired three players from their domestic league, including Toni Ročak (Dubrava), Luka Skorić (Šibenka) and Vigo Bart (DepoLink Škrljevo), while the last two team summer signings came from abroad - Anthony Barber (Scarborough Shooting Stars) and Peter Jok (Ottawa BlackJacks).

Cibona look significantly different than in the previous season when they took the 12th place on the standings. Can they do more than that in the 2024/25 campaign? We are about to find out in the upcoming months.
