Game recap: In the opening game of the Sunday’s AdmiralBet ABA League schedule, Igokea m:tel have edged out Mega MIS on the road in Belgrade. This is an important win for Igokea m:tel, that have achieved their fourth win of the season, the one that puts them on the 4:2 record, firmly within the Playoffs Zone. On the other side, Mega MIS are now also on a 4:2 record, having suffered their second defeat in a row following a dream-like 4:0 beginning of the season.
Key moments: In the opening quarter the two squads have been pretty tied in terms of scoring and a minute and a half until the end of the first period, the hosts have still been in front by 2 points (11:9). That’s when Igokea m:tel started their 9:0 run, that put them up by 7 points (11:18) at the start of the second quarter. After this Mega MIS haven’t returned in front again all until the end of the game, but we could hardly claim these to be the ultimately key moments of the game, since Mega MIS got back into the battle for a pair of points several times afterwards in this game. Another run by the visiting side, that has proven itself to be crucial came in the third quarter, that took them from a 4-point lead (49:53) into a 13-point lead (49:62) between the 28th and 32nd minute of the game. After this, Mega MIS have not managed to get close enough to threaten to take the win away from Igokea m:tel anymore.
Man of the match: Bryce Jones has put on another all-around performance, as he led his Igokea m:tel to a new win, with 11 points, 6 rebounds, just as many assists, 2 steals, one block and a valuation of 13. He is our man of the match!
Can’t trick the stats: Mega MIS had as many as 20 turnovers and Igokea m:tel 11. This is what decided the outcome of the game in the end.
