Game recap: What a game! Split have defeated SC Derby in overtime after Antonio Jordano knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer just 1 second before the end of the match.

Split have therefore bounced back after two consecutive defeats and the boys coached by Slaven Rimac now have the overall score of 4-5. On the other side, SC Derby lost another away game in this season and they are also at the overall score of 4-5.

Key moments: Before we start talking about Antonio Jordano’s game-winning 3-pointer, we have to mention that both sides missed huge chances to win the match already by the end of the 4th quarter. Split had two free throws, while leading 77:76 and with just 17 seconds remaining on the game clock, but Borna Kapusta missed both free throws.

On the other side of the court, Erick Neal missed a 2-point shot, but young David Mirković grabbed an offensive rebound and then got fouled while attempting a 2-pointer, just 1 second before the end of the 4th quarter.

Mirković made the first free throw to tie the score – 77:77, but he then missed the 2nd free throw and the game went into overtime.

In the additional 5 minutes we saw several lead changes, while the key moment happened just 1 second before the end when Shannon Shorter made a pass to Antonio Jordano who pulled up for a 3-pointer and drained the game-winning shot. Take a look.

Man of the match: Split’s captain Shannon Shorter did make a double-double performance with 24 points and 12 rebounds, but simply the award for the man of the match has to go to the hands of tonight’s hero Antonio Jordano, who hit the most important shot in the game.

Can’t trick the stats: If you take a look at the stats it is really difficult to explain how did Split win this match. The home team missed 16 free throws today, while on top of that they made 10 rebounds less than SC Derby. Yet, with a bit of luck in the dying moments of the 4th quarter and with great energy in overtime they managed to prevail over their opponents.
