FMP Soccerbet appoint Petar Aleksić as new head coach

FMP Soccerbet announced that they have appointed Petar Aleksić as new first team head coach.

Aleksić is therefore returning to the club for which he played from 1994 to 1998 and with whom he won the 1997 national cup as a player.

Aleksić started his coaching career 10 years ago. He was firstly an assistant in Austrian side BBC Feldkirch Baskets, while his first job as head coach came in the 2006/07 season when he led Swiss team Union Neuchâtel.

After that, Aleksić accepted the position of assistant coach in German giant Alba Berlin with whom he won one German Championship and one German National Cup. He worked in Alba Berlin from 2007 to 2009, while he then returned to Switzerland where he firstly once again coached Union Neuchâtel in the 2010/11 season, while after that he was the head coach of another Swiss team Monthey.

Meanwhile, Aleksić was also the head coach of U20 Switzerland National Team.

In 2013, Petar Aleksić became the head coach of Swiss side Fribourg Olympic and has remained at that position for the following 10 years. He led the club toward winning 6 Swiss Championships, 5 Swiss National Cups, 3 Swiss League Cups and 4 Swiss Super Cups.

During that period he was also the head coach of the Swiss National Team from 2013 to 2016.

Finally, Aleksić started the 2024/25 season as head coach of Greek side Iraklis.

Recall that FMP Soccerbet have parted ways with head coach Saša Nikitović after losing the last round game against Zadar. The Panthers currently have the overall score of 4-5 in the 2024/25 AdmiralBet ABA League.

Petar Aleksić novi trener FMP-a

KK FMP SoccerBet obaveštava javnost da je Petar Aleksić novi prvi trener kluba. To će za Aleksića biti veliki povratak u Železnik jer je od 1994. do 1998. sa puno uspeha igrao za Pantere i 1997. osvojio Kup Jugoslavije.

Sada već iskusni trener karijeru je započeo u Austriji gde je radio kao prvi trener ekipe Eurotek, a potom prelazi u švajcarski Union Neuhatel. Od 2007. do 2009. godine bio je pomoćni trener Albe iz Berlina i sa njom se plasirao u Top 16 fazu Evrolige i osvojio je jednom ligu i jedanput Kup. Aleksić se potom se vratio u Švajcarsku gde je između ostalog radio i kao selektor selekcije do 20 godina. On 2013. preuzima kormilo seniorske selekcije Švajcarske sa kojom beleži brojne uspehe uključujući i senzacionalnu pobedu nad favorizovanom Rusijom.

Usledila je dekada uspešnog vođenja Friburg Olimpika. Od 2013. do 2023. godine sa Friburg Olimpikom je osvojio čak 18 trofeja u Švajcarskoj. Od toga šest titula šampiona, pet nacionalnih Kupova, četiri Superkupa i tri Liga Kupa. Sedam puta je izabran za najboljeg trenera Švajcarske. Sa Friburgom je ostvario i istorijski plasman u grupnu fazu FIBA Lige Šampiona savladavši na tom putu favorita Avtodor i Sakariju, kao i Groningen. Takođe, u sezoni 2019/2020 i 2020/2021 sa Friburgom je Aleksić uspešno nastupao u FIBA Evrokupu.
