The red-and-whites are back on the winning track in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague!
After the defeat in Milan earlier this week at the start of Zvezda’s Italian double-game tour, the Belgrade side bounced back this Thursday evening in Bologna where they defeated Virtus Sefafredo Bologna by 94:87.
Crvena zvezda Meridianbet pulled off a major 4th quarter comeback to get this win. The red-and-whites were down by 10 points – 65:75, six-and-a-half minutes before the end of the game, but then they went on to score 29 points in the rest of the match to shock the home team and their fans.
The Belgrade team firstly reduced the gap to just 2 points with a 10:2 run – 75:77, while then as the two teams entered the last minutes of the game all tied – 85:85, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet made another big run, this time - 9:2 - that launched them toward the win.
Nikola Kalinić scored a big 3-pointer from way behind the arc for 88:85, while after that Filip Petrušev and Isaiah Canaan made two free throws each for 92:85.
Will Clyburn then made a 2-pointer to reduce the gap just for short period of time – 92:87, while on the other side of the court Filip Petrušev made two more free throws to make the final score – 94:87.
Crvena zvezda Meridianbet now have the overall score of 7-7 in the 2024/25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season.
