Story of the game: The second game of the Sunday’s schedule takes us to Podgorica where Budućnost VOLI will host Krka.
Budućnost VOLI had a thrilling week behind them in which they scored two huge wins. They firstly defeated league leaders Partizan Mozzart Bet on the road to improve their season score in the AdmiralBet ABA League to 10-2, while after that the Podgorica side previlaed over Trento in overtime thriller in BKT EuroCup.
Now, the blue-and-whites want to continue with excellent results, while they will also aim to extend their impressive home-court winning streak in the games against Krka.
Budućnost VOLI have won 14 consecutive home games against Krka in the AdmiralBet ABA League. Interesting enough, Krka triumphed in Podgorica back in 2002 in their first ever away match against Budućnost VOLI, while after that Budućnost VOLI won all of the following 14 home games against the Novo mesto squad.
Krka can’t really say that they are now coming to Podgorica in some great form as the green-and-whites lost the previous two games in the league, while they are currently sharing the 13th place on the standings with the overall score of 3-9.
Match-up in focus: Budućnost VOLI point guard McKinley Wright IV was the hero of the last weekend’s huge win vs. Partizan Mozzart Bet as he scored 22 points in that match.
Meanwhile, Krka’s point guard Jan Špan also had some excellent performances in the ongoing season, while he is currently the team’s 2nd best scorer in the 2024/25 campaign with 11.6 points per game.
Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 22:8; In Podgorica 14:1.
