Story of the game: The last match of Round 14 and the last match that will be played this year is quite a special one. Partizan Mozzart Bet are about to host Cedevita Olimpija this Monday evening in this week’s NLB Match of the Round.
The games between Partizan Mozzart Bet and Cedevita Olimpija have always been very exciting and we all believe that the two regional giants will present us another basketball classic.
Partizan Mozzart Bet lost the previous two games in the league, firstly against Budućnost VOLI, then against Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, so the black-and-whites dropped to the overall score of 11-2 and they were sharing the top of the table before this round with none other than the teams that beat them over the past two weeks - Budućnost VOLI and Crvena zvezda Meridianbet.
Yet, the Belgrade giant bounced back couple of days ago with a huge home win against Fenerbahce in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and that victory has certainly helped the team regain confidence. Now, the black-and-whites aim to get back on the winning path in the AdmiralBet ABA League as well, and to once again start pushing forward in the race for the 1st place in the regular season.
Meanwhile, Cedevita Olimpija are living their best days of the season, so far. The Ljubljana troops are on a 5-game winning streak in the regional league and they have finally reached the Playoffs zone.
Recall that the Dragons made the afwul start of the season as they opened the 2024/25 campaign with a 2-6 overall score, but with 5 consecutive wins in their pockets they now have the score of 7-6 and they hope to extend their winning streak on Monday evening in Belgrade.
Match-up in focus: Duane Washington has been impressive over the past few weeks and has showed that Partizan Mozzart Bet made a superb move when signing him last summer. Washington scored 24 points against Split, then he made 28 points against Igokea m:tel, while last week he made 27 points in the win against Fenerbahce in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
On the other side, Cedevita Olimpija's great performances started with the recovery of Brynton Lemar who's been putting on some brilliant performances since returning on court. Lemar made 22 points in the match against Spartak Office Shoes, while then he scored 22 in the match against SC Derby as well.
