2024/25 AdmiralBet ABA League Round 16, Saturday, 11 January 2025:

IGOKEA M:TEL – SPLIT

Where? Laktaši Sports Hall, Laktaši

When? 17:00

Story of the game: In their Laktaši Sports Hall, Igokea will be hosting Split in the Round 16 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season.

It’s the battle of two teams that are clearly aiming for the Playoffs this season, but with their situations looking quite different midway through the season. As Igokea m:tel are on a 9:6 record after 15 games played, Split are on a record of 6:9. And while this puts Igokea m:tel comfortably within the Playoffs Zone, Split are right now clearly below its edge.

So, it’s clear that in order to accomplish their goals set ahead of the season, Igokea m:tel need to keep winning to stay where they are, while Split will need to gear up their performance to reach the Top 8.

Previously, however, the clashes between the two squads in Laktaši have always been dramatic and difficult to predict, as in 5 games played so far between the two, Igokea m:tel have prevailed 3 times and Split twice.

Who will prevail this time?

Match-up in focus: For sure the main focus will be placed on the head-to-head battle of two magnificent guards – Bryce Jones of Igokea m:tel and Shannon Shorter of Split. While Jones has been the top scorer and passer of Igokea this season, averaging 14.9 points and 5.9 assists per game, Shorter has been leading Split in both scoring and rebounding, while coming second in passing, with an average of 16.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Who will come out on top this time?

Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 8:3; in Laktaši 3:2.
