IN MEMORIAM: Dražen Dalipagić (1951-2025)

The ABA League family is deeply saddened to hear of passing of one of the regional basketball greats Dražen Dalipagić.
A moment of silence will be held before each match of Round 18 in honor of Dalipagić, who passed away in Belgrade at the age of 73.
Legendary Dražen Dalipagić was born in Mostar, on November 27, 1951. During his rich and successful player’s career he played for Partizan, Crvena zvezda, Real Madrid, Udine, Venezia and Verona, while after retiring as a player he was the head coach of Nuova Pallacanestro Gorizia, MZT Skopje and Lavovi.
Dalipagić has won some big trophies with the clubs he played for, including 2 Yugoslav CHampionships and 2 FIBA Korać Cups, while he was also very successful while playing for the Yugoslav National Team with whom he won 13 medals, including gold medals as the Olympic Games, FIBA World Cup and FIBA EuroBasket.
Dalipagić was enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 2004, and into the FIBA Hall of Fame, also as a player, in 2007. In 2008, he was named one of the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors.
