On the opening day of the February window for the FIBA EuroBasket qualifiers Montenegro was defeated at home against reigning world champions Germany.
The Germans took control of the game right from the get-go, they held a 9-point lead after the first quarter. Germany continued to grow their advantage as the game progressed, giving Montenegro their second loss of the qualifiers. After 5 games, Germany and Montenegro each have a 3-2 record in Group D.
Marko Simonović led the way for Montenegro with 21 points and 7 rebounds while Zadar's star guard put up 18 points in his nation's jersey against Germany. Isaac Bonga scored 13 points and 5 rebounds in the win for Germany.
