Split sign contract with Adam Smith

Split announced that they have signed contract with 32-year-old American guard Adam Smith until the end of the season.

Smith has spent his entire pro career in Europe where he played for numerous clubs, including Roseto Sharks, Élan Chalon, Socar Petkim, Pallacanestro Orzinuovi, Orlandina, Ravenna, PAOK Thessaloniki, Ionikos Nikaias, Zielona Góra, Merkezefendi Bld. Denizli Basket, Hapoel Holon and Bilbao.

“I am very happy and honored to have the opportunity to be part of this team as I have heard great things about the whole organization and the city. It is a great privilege to be part of a club with such a rich history as KK Split. My goal is always to conquer and win and I will do my best to make it happen,” said Smith, who will wear No. 0 on his jersey.

It is interesting to mention that in the 2019/20 season, Smith was teammate with Split’s current captain Shannon Shorter as back then both of them played for Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki.

Adam Smith novi igrač Splita

Adam Smith (32, 185 cm, bek) novi je igrač Splita, potpisao je ugovor do kraja sezone. Smith je u Europi još od 2016. godine, a nosio je dresove Roseta, Elan Chalon, Orlandine, Ravenne, PAOK-a, Ionikosa, Zielone Gore, Denizlija, Hapoel Holona i Bilbaoa.

- Vrlo sam sretan i počašćen što imam priliku biti dijelom ove ekipe, čuo sam sjajne stvari o cijeloj organizaciji i gradu. Velika je privilegija biti dijelom kluba tako bogate povijesti kakvu ima KK Split. Moj cilj je uvijek osvajanje i pobjeđivanje i dat ću sve od sebe da to ostvarimo - kazao je Smith koji će nositi 0 na dresu.

Zanimljivo, Smith je u sezoni 2019/20 u PAOK-u igrao zajedno s našim kapetanom Shannonom Shorterom i tada je u u Champions League imao prosjek od 17.4 poena, a Shorter je postizao 15.2 poena.
