David Škara is moving from Split to Ljubljana

Cedevita Olimpija will be reinfored for the 2025/26 season by the 205 cm tall 30-year old David Škara, that is coming to Ljubljana from Split.

Cedevita Olimpija has reinforced its ranks ahead of the new season with 30-year old and 205 cm tall David Škara. The latter began his career as a teenager in Zadar, went to college in the USA and before the 2024/25 season, that he spent in Split, he has been gaining experience in Spain and France.

“I am happy and extremely grateful for an opportunity to play for Cedevita Olimpija. I cannot wait to join the team and play in the first games,” Škara told as he signed with the Ljubljana side.

David Škara began his basketball path in Zadar, where he used to play for the youth categories of the Dalmatian club and later moved to the USA, where he used to play for Valparaiso Beacons (Indiana) and Clemons Tigers (South Carolina). Ahead of the 2019/20 season he returned to Europe, where he used to play for the Spanish side Levitec Huesca and afterwards, all until his move to Split in 2024, played in Frane.

In the second division of the French club basketball he used to play for Denain, Nancy and Champagne Basket and in the first division he played for ESSM Le Portel in the 2021/22 season. He moved to Split ahead of the 2024/25 season and appeared in 29 games in the AdmiralBet ABA League, averaging 12.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Škara used to be the 14th leading rebounder of the regional competition in the past season and the second-best player of Split in terms of valuation in the season.

Na visokih igralnih položajih bo članska ekipa Cedevite Olimpije v sezoni 2025/26 močnejša za 205 centimetrov visokega, 30-letnega Davida Škaro, ki v Ljubljano prihaja iz Splita.

Na položaju krilnega centra se je Cedevita Olimpija pred začetkom tekmovalne sezone 2025/26 okrepila s 30-letnim in 205 centimetrov visokim Davidom Škaro. Slednji je svojo kariero kot najstnik začel v Zadru, študiral je v Združenih državah Amerike, pred sezono 2024/25, ki jo je preživel v Splitu, pa izkušnje pridobival v Španiji in Franciji.

"Vesel in izjemno hvaležen sem za priložnost, da zaigram za Cedevito Olimpijo. Komaj čakam, da se pridružim ekipi in odigram prve tekme," je ob podpisu pogodbe z ljubljanskim klubom povedal David Škara.

Svojo košarkarsko pot je David Škara začel v Zadru, kjer je nastopal za ekipe mlajših starostnih kategorij dalmatinskega kluba, sledila pa je selitev v Združene države Amerike, kjer je na univerzitetni ravni nosil dres dveh ekip, Valparaiso Beacons (Indiana) in Clemons Tigers (Južna Karolina). Pred začetkom sezone 2019/20 se je vrnil v Evropo, kjer je najprej igral za španski kolektiv Levitec Huesca, nato pa, vse do selitve v Split leta 2024, nastopal v Franciji.

V drugi francoski ligi je nosil drese Denaina, Nancyja in Champagne Basketa, v prvi ligi pa je zaigral za ESSM Le Portel v sezoni 2021/22. Pred začetkom sezone 2024/25 se je nato preseli k Splitu, za katerega je v AdmiralBet Ligi ABA zaigral na 29 tekmah in v povprečju dosegal 12,5 točke, 5,8 skokov in 1,7 asistence na tekmo. Škara je bil 14. najboljši skakalec v regionalni ligi v sezoni, ki je za nami, obenem pa za Shannonom Shorterjem drugi najbolje ocenjeni posameznik Splita v sezoni.
