As a longtime friend and strong supporter of the ABA League, and a regular guest for the past 25 years, Mr. Costas Rigas attended the seminar and delivered a professional lecture focusing on the guidelines and standards of EuroLeague officiating.
After the lecture, all referees present successfully passed the test on knowledge of the FIBA Official Basketball Rules and the additional regulations approved by Euroleague Basketball.
The seminar was opened by the ABA League Sports Director, Mr. Milija Vojinović. The participants were also addressed by the Commissioner for the Appointment of Referees and Delegates, Mr. Srđan Dožai, as well as the President of the ABA League Refereeing Commission, Mr. Saša Maričić, who also led the seminar with the support of the Commission’s Secretary, Mr. Vladsan Šundić.
This seminar represents an important step in raising the quality and unified standards of officiating in regional competition, reaffirming the professionalism and continuous development of the ABA League.
One undisputable evidence of the quality of the ABA League officiating over the past seasons is for sure the fact, that no less than 19 ABA League referees and 2 officiating instructors will take part in the forthcoming Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.
