Zadar narrowly missed the AdmiralBet ABA League Playoffs last season, finishing just below the Top 8 line, but the team showed plenty of quality performances along the way. For the 2025/26 campaign, the legendary club from Dalmatia aims to build on those foundations and make another push for a spot among the best.
Leadership from the Bench
The team will once again be led by head coach Danijel Jusup, a true club legend under whom Zadar achieved some of their greatest successes, including the historic 2003 ABA League championship title. Jusup’s experience and connection with the club remain a cornerstone of their ambitions.
Backcourt Strength
At the point guard position, Zadar kept their top scorer Vladimir Mihailović and young Toni Torbarina, while adding one of Croatia’s best point guards, Borna Kapusta, who joined from local rivals Split. With this trio, the team expects a strong playmaking presence.
Wings and Forwards
Team captain Marko Ramljak will continue to be a leader at the SG/SF positions, with support from Krševan Klarica and youngster Manuel Dundović. Zadar also brought in another player from Split, Boris Tišma, to strengthen the forward rotation.
Frontcourt Depth
The front line will be anchored by experienced Karlo Žganec and versatile forward Lovro Mazalin, one of Zadar’s best players last season. New additions include Jayden Luis Martinez (Spojnia Stargrad) and former FMP Soccerbet forward Beau Beech, both expected to add athleticism and scoring options.
Youth Integration
As always, Zadar is looking to the future by promoting several talented youngsters to the first team - Luka Bičić, Alexander Božiković, and Luka Gulan — who will look to earn their minutes in the regional competition.
Ambitions
All in all, Zadar have formed a solid and competitive roster capable of challenging any team in the AdmiralBet ABA League. With the mix of experience, quality signings, and promising youth, the Dalmatian powerhouse will look to repeat their 2023/24 success — when they reached the Playoffs — and once again battle among the league’s elite.
