Game recap: In the opening game of the Round 4 of the AdmiralBet ABA League season, Split have prevailed over U-BT Cluj-Napoca at home in Gripe. This is the first win of the season for Split, after opening the AdmiralBet ABA League campaign with 3 straight defeats. On the other side, the Romanian AdmiralBet ABA League newcomers have lost their second game on the regional courts this season and will be on a 1:2 record in the lower half of the standings in the Group A when the Round 4 ends.
Key moments: It has been a game of small ups and downs for the majority of the playing time and with 6 and a half minutes to go in the game, the visiting side were in front by 9 points (64:73). That’s when Split squad went on an 11:0 run over the next 2 minutes to turn the game completely upside-down. The game remained tight, however all until the start of the last minute, when Vito Kučić put his team up 85:80 with two consecutive 2-pointers. He later also set the final score with two free throws.

Can’t trick the stats: It have been the turnovers that have cost U-BT Cluj-Napoca a fortune this time around. Despite being a better of two squads in field goal percentage, rebounding, passing and shot blocking, the Romanian side fell short due to as many as 24 turnovers made, in comparison to only 11 by Split.
