Cedevita Olimpija continued their strong run in the BKT EuroCup by claiming a convincing 88:74 road victory over Veolia Towers Hamburg, keeping their hopes of a top-two finish in Group A very much alive.
The Dragons effectively decided the contest in the first half, delivering an impressive offensive display to take full control of the game early on. Cedevita Olimpija poured in 50 points over the opening 20 minutes, building an 18-point advantage at the break (50:32) and leaving the hosts with a mountain to climb.
In the second half, the Ljubljana side showed maturity and composure, calmly protecting their lead and never allowing Hamburg to seriously threaten a comeback.
With this victory, Cedevita Olimpija improved their overall record to 11-6 and remain in contention for second place in Group A, which would secure direct qualification to the quarter-finals. To make that happen, the Dragons will need to defeat Slask Wrocław on the road in the final round, while also hoping that Bahcesehir College suffer an away defeat against Neptunas.
