Zadar have announced the appointment of Stipe Modrić as the club's new head coach, with the 47-year-old signing a contract until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Modrić arrives from Ilirija, where he spent the past two seasons as head coach after previously serving four years as an assistant coach. During his time at the Slovenian club, he led Ilirija to promotion to the AdmiralBet ABA League and guided the team to survival in its first-ever season among the regional elite.

The Sinj-born coach began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Olimpija Ljubljana in the 2018/19 season before continuing his development at Ilirija.

As a player, Modrić represented Alkar, Olimpija, Slovan, Ludwigsburg, Cholet, Cedevita, Anwil Włocławek, Astrum Levice and Portorož. One of the highlights of his playing career came in 2002, when he won the AdmiralBet ABA League title with Olimpija. He also won two Slovenian league championships and four Slovenian Cups with the Ljubljana club.

Having successfully led Ilirija into the AdmiralBet ABA League and secured the club's place in the competition, Modrić now begins a new chapter as head coach of Zadar.
