Niko Šare returns to Zadar on long-term deal

Zadar have strengthened their backcourt ahead of the new season by bringing back one of the club's own products, as guard Niko Šare has signed a long-term contract with the Croatian squad.

The 20-year-old returns to his hometown after spending the previous two seasons with Cedevita Junior.

Standing 196 cm tall, Šare primarily plays at the shooting guard position and arrives after an impressive 2024/25 campaign. In the FIBA Europe Cup, he averaged 12.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 26.7 minutes per game across 12 appearances.

Šare has committed his future to Zadar by signing a three-year contract that will keep him with the club through the end of the 2028/29 season.

The signing continues an active offseason for Zadar, who have already secured the futures of several key players. Captain Marko Ramljak, Vladimir Mihailović and Krševan Klarica recently extended their contracts through the 2027/28 campaign, while Lovro Buljević remains under contract until the conclusion of the 2026/27 season.

Niko Šare se nakon dvije godine provedene u dresu KK Cedevita Junior vraća u matični klub KK Zadar.

Po završetku juniorskog staža Šare je karijeru nastavio u Zagrebu, gdje je u dresu Cedevite Junior ostvario zapažene nastupe i izborio mjesto na širem popisu hrvatske seniorske reprezentacije. 

Rođen 20. travnja 2005. godine, Šare je visok 196 centimetara te igra na poziciji beka. U prošlosezonskom izdanju FIBA Europe Cupa prosječno je 26,7 minuta te bilježio 12,6 poena, 4,1 skok i 4,1 asistenciju po utakmici u 12 susreta na međunarodnoj sceni.

Niko Šare s Košarkaškim klubom Zadar potpisao je trogodišnji ugovor te će biti član kluba do kraja sezone 2028./29.

Podsjetimo, prije Šarinog potpisa suradnju s klubom produžili su kapetan Marko Ramljak, Vladimir Mihailović i Krševan Klarica do kraja sezone 2027./28., dok je Lovro Buljević ugovor produžio do kraja sezone 2026./27.
