Vienna have appointed Dragan Bajić as the club's new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the experienced tactician stepping into a role he knows well after spending the previous campaign as the club's Sports Director.

Bajić succeeds Mike Coffin, who served as Vienna's head coach during the 2025/26 season.

Bajić is one of the most recognizable coaching figures in the ABA League region, having built his reputation during his highly successful spells with Igokea m:tel. Over many seasons in Laktaši, he guided the club to the greatest achievements in its history, establishing Igokea as a consistent contender in regional competition while also leading the team to multiple domestic titles.

One of the highlights of his coaching career came in the memorable 2020/21 campaign, when he steered Igokea to the ABA League Semi-Finals. His outstanding work earned him the ABA League Coach of the Season award, recognizing the remarkable success of the Laktaši side.

Bajić joined Vienna last season as the club's Sports Director, playing an important role in shaping the organization's sporting vision. Now, he will move back to the sidelines, taking charge of the first team as Vienna prepare for the challenges of the 2026/27 campaign.
