Dubai Basketball has reached an agreement with French guard Elie Okobo on a multi-year contract.

The 28-year-old arrives in Dubai as the reigning French Championship MVP after helping AS Monaco win the domestic title last season. Okobo spent the last four seasons (2022–26) with Monaco, following a one-year stint at fellow French side LDLC ASVEL (2021/22), and becomes the latest addition to Dubai Basketball’s roster ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Okobo arrives in Dubai with extensive experience at the highest level of European basketball. The 1.91-metre guard has appeared in 182 EuroLeague games during his career, averaging 12.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

He joins Dubai following one of the finest seasons of his career, having been named both the 2025/26 French Championship MVP and the league’s Finals MVP. During the same campaign, he recorded a career-high 4.9 assists per game.

One of his standout performances came against Paris Basketball in December 2025, when he finished with 26 points, four rebounds and a season-high PIR of 39.

Okobo joins Dubai in his prime as a highly skilled offensive player, known for his creativity with the ball and his ability to impact games in multiple ways. He is capable of creating scoring opportunities from anywhere on the court, both for himself and for his teammates.

Throughout his career, Okobo has collected several major honours in France. He arrives in Dubai as the reigning French champion, having won three French Championships with AS Monaco and one with ASVEL.
