Osayi Osifo joins Cedevita Olimpija
Cedevita Olimpija continues to assemble its roster for the 2026/27 season. The new member of the Dragons is 26-year-old Osayi Osifo, who arrives in Ljubljana after gaining experience in the Basketball Africa League and with the Austin Spurs. Osifo has signed a two-year contract with the Ljubljana club.

Standing 206 centimeters tall, Osayi Osifo was born on 6 April 2000 in Vereeniging, South Africa, and developed his basketball career in the United States. In the NCAA, he first played for the Florida Gators before spending two successful seasons with the Jacksonville Dolphins.
He turned professional in 2024. During the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons, he was a member of the San Antonio Spurs' NBA G League affiliate, the Austin Spurs. In the 2024/25 season, he also gained experience in the Canadian CEBL, where he represented the Calgary Surge in eight games.
"I am very happy to be joining a top organization like Cedevita Olimpija. There is a culture of winning and excellence within the club, and I want to become a part of it and contribute to it myself," said Osayi Osifo after signing his contract with the Ljubljana club.
In the 2025/26 season, Osifo appeared in 28 games for the Austin Spurs in the NBA G League, averaging 6.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. He finished the season in Egypt, where he played for Cairo-based Al Ahly. In the Basketball Africa League, he averaged 7.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists over nine games. His excellent defensive performances also earned him a place on the competition's All-Defensive Second Team.
He also spent this summer in the United States, competing in the NBA Summer League. Wearing the Denver Nuggets jersey, he appeared in five games, averaging 10.1 minutes, 6.8 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

Osayi Osifo okrepil vrste Cedevite Olimpije
Cedevita Olimpija nadaljuje sestavljanje igralskega mozaika članske zasedbe za tekmovalno sezono 2026/27. Novi član Zmajev je 26-letni Osayi Osifo, ki v Ljubljano prihaja po tem, ko je izkušnje pridobival v Basketball Africa League in izkušnji v sistemu ekipe Austin Spurs. Z ljubljanskim klubom je podpisal dveletno pogodbo.
Osayi Osifo, visok 206 centimetrov, se je rodil 6. aprila 2000 v južnoafriškem Vereenigingu, košarkarsko pot pa je gradil v Združenih državah Amerike. V ligi NCAA je najprej nosil dres moštva Florida Gators, nato pa dve sezoni uspešno nastopal še za Jacksonville Dolphins.
Med profesionalce je prestopil leta 2024. V sezonah 2024/25 in 2025/26 je bil član razvojne ekipe San Antonio Spurs, Austin Spurs, v sezoni 2024/25 pa je del izkušenj nabiral tudi v kanadski ligi CEBL, kjer je na osmih tekmah zastopal barve Calgary Surge.

V sezoni 2025/26 je za Austin Spurs v razvojni ligi NBA (G League) nastopil na 28 tekmah in v povprečju dosegal 6,0 točke, 5,5 skoka ter 0,5 asistence na srečanje. Tekmovalno sezono je zaključil v Egiptu, kjer je oblekel dres kairskega Al Ahlyja. V afriški Basketball Africa League je na devetih tekmah v povprečju beležil 7,1 točke, 6,4 skoka in 1,2 asistence, z odličnimi obrambnimi predstavami pa si prislužil tudi mesto v drugi najboljši obrambni peterki tekmovanja.
Tudi letošnje poletje je preživel v Združenih državah Amerike, kjer je nastopal v Poletni ligi NBA. V dresu Denver Nuggets je zaigral na petih tekmah, na parketu v povprečju preživel 10,1 minute ter dosegal 6,8 točke in 3,0 skoke na srečanje.
