Presenting 2026/27 teams: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet - Built to compete for the crown

Whenever a new AdmiralBet ABA League season begins, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet enter it with the highest possible ambitions. The 7-time regional champions have built a tradition of competing for trophies and the expectations will be no different in the 2026/27 campaign, as the Belgrade powerhouse set their sights on returning to the very top.

Last season, the red-and-whites saw their journey end in the Semi-Finals, a result that certainly did not satisfy a club that aims for the trophy every year. Therefore, Zvezda will enter the new campaign highly motivated to go one step further and challenge for the championship once again.

They will do so with a mixture of continuity and fresh energy, while new head coach Ibon Navarro will be at the helm of the project.

Navarro will have a significant number of players from last season’s roster at his disposal, giving him a strong foundation on which to build the team. Captain Ognjen Dobrić remains one of the leaders of the red-and-white squad, while Stefan Miljenović, Jared Butler, Dejan Davidovac, Tyson Carter, Ebuka Izundu, Jordan Nwora, Semi Ojeleye and Chima Moneke have all stayed in Belgrade.

With so many familiar faces remaining together, Zvezda have kept an important core of the team, which should help them establish the necessary chemistry and continuity as they prepare for another demanding season.

At the same time, the club management made sure to provide the new head coach with several interesting additions over the summer and further strengthen the roster. Chris Jones, David Kramer, Johnathan Motley, Patrick Baldwin Jr., Vojin Medarević, Nick Weiler-Babb and young Andrej Bjelić have all joined the team ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Most of the newcomers arrive with significant EuroLeague experience, while the additions of younger players bring further potential and depth to an already strong roster. On paper, Navarro certainly has plenty of quality and different options at his disposal, but now comes the most important part – putting all the pieces together on the court.

One thing is certain when it comes to Crvena zvezda Meridianbet – their goals are always set high. The red-and-whites will be eager to make another strong push for the top, with one of their biggest goals for 2026/27 perfectly clear – bringing the AdmiralBet ABA League trophy back to their cupboard.
