Presenting 2026/27 teams: Široki TT Kabeli - Back among the elite

Široki TT Kabeli are back where they have wanted to be for so long. After winning the ABA League 2 championship last season, Široki have returned to the AdmiralBet ABA League for the first time since the 2013/14 campaign, and excitement is running high ahead of their long-awaited comeback among the regional elite.

The club made sure to preserve an important part of the team that earned promotion, starting with head coach Marijan Bagarić, who will continue to lead the squad. Keeping continuity on the bench could prove valuable as Široki prepare to make the significant step from ABA League 2 to the highest regional level.

Bagarić will also be able to rely on several key players from last season's successful campaign. Josip Bilinovac, Matej Bošnjak, Dominik Vujanović and Josip Čović have all remained with the team and will once again carry significant responsibility on the court. Youngsters Antonio Reher and Matej Galić are also staying and will be looking to continue their development while gaining valuable experience at a higher level.

At the same time, Široki TT Kabeli have strengthened the roster with several players who already know the regional basketball environment very well. Ivan Karačić has returned to the club after six years, while one of the most experienced centers in the league, Karlo Žganec, arrives from Zadar. Jure Zubac joins from Bosna BH Telecom, while Tayler Persons, who previously played for Krka and Bosna BH Telecom, is back in the AdmiralBet ABA League after signing with Široki this summer.

The club have also added Chavaughn Daniel Lewis and Joshua Oluwadamilare Ola-Joseph, who are both preparing to make their AdmiralBet ABA League debuts. Their arrival brings additional quality and fresh energy to a roster that combines continuity, experience and players eager to prove themselves.

Now comes the moment Široki have been waiting for. The club have spent years trying to find their way back to the highest level of regional basketball. After finally achieving that goal by conquering ABA League 2, they are once again ready to compete among the best.

And now they want to prove that this is exactly where they belong.
