Presenting 2026/27 teams: BC Vienna - A new-look team ready for season two

BC Vienna are entering their second-ever AdmiralBet ABA League season with a fresh start, as the Austrian side have completely reshaped the team ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

After making their debut among the regional elite last season, BC Vienna opted for major changes over the summer. There is a new head coach, almost an entirely new roster and plenty of new faces eager to prove themselves on the big stage.

The new-look BC Vienna will be led by Dragan Bajić, a two-time winner of the ABA League Coach of the Season award and a man who certainly needs no introduction to basketball fans around the region. Bajić brings enormous ABA League experience to the bench, while another important advantage is that he was already part of Vienna last season, albeit in a different role. Therefore, he already knows the club and its system very well, which should make the transition to his new position significantly easier.

When it comes to the roster, Aron Stazić is the only player remaining from last season's squad. Every other member of the 2026/27 team is a newcomer, but several of them already know the AdmiralBet ABA League environment extremely well.

Krešimir Radovčić has arrived from Cibona, while Bogdan Zimonjić joined the Austrian side from FMP. Nikola Jovanović previously played for Crvena zvezda Meridianbet and Igokea m:tel, Aleksa Novaković represented Borac Mozzart, while Aleksandar Langović gained valuable regional experience with Mega Superbet. Luka Kureš, former player of Perspektiva Ilirija, is another piece of Vienna's new-look roster.

The final four pieces of the 2026/27 puzzle are players who are preparing for their AdmiralBet ABA League debuts - Jean-David Yombo Muila-Mwaka, Alagie Barra Njie, Rodney Laurent Gunn and Grant Payne Sherfield. Considering Bajić's impressive track record of finding quality players from abroad and helping them make their mark in the region, it will be particularly interesting to see whether some of BC Vienna's new foreign additions can become breakout names of the upcoming campaign.

With just one player remaining from last season, BC Vienna have effectively pressed the reset button. That also makes them one of the biggest unknowns heading into the new season. There is proven ABA League experience on the bench, several players who already know the competition and a group of intriguing newcomers ready to introduce themselves to the regional audience.
