The opening round of the 2026/27 BKT EuroCup season brought mixed results for AdmiralBet ABA League sides on Wednesday night, as Budućnost VOLI celebrated a convincing road win, while Bosna BH Telecom, Cedevita Olimpija and U-BT Cluj-Napoca suffered defeats.

Budućnost VOLI could hardly have wished for a better start to their EuroCup campaign, as they cruised past Slask Wroclaw on the road by 99:75. After taking a three-point lead in the opening quarter, the Podgorica squad took full control by winning the second period 29:14 and never looked back. Juwan Morgan led Budućnost VOLI with 23 points, while Iverson Molinar added 15.

Bosna BH Telecom came agonisingly close to starting their EuroCup return with a victory, but eventually suffered a 75:72 road defeat against Lietkabelis. The Sarajevo squad came back from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter and tied the game at 72:72, before Ognjen Jaramaz hit a three-pointer in the final second to give Lietkabelis the win. Cedevita Olimpija also came close to a road win, but Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos prevailed 85:81 in a tight encounter in Spain. The Dragons entered the final quarter trailing by just three points and stayed within striking distance until the end, but the home side held on for the win. Rihards Lomazs led Cedevita Olimpija with 22 points, while Matthew Hurt added 20 and Anthony Cowan Jr. 15.

It was a difficult EuroCup opener for U-BT Cluj-Napoca, who suffered an 89:55 road defeat against Maxima Roma. The hosts set the tone with a 34:18 opening quarter and continued to increase their advantage over the following two periods. Javonte Smart and Kristian Kullamae were U-BT Cluj-Napoca's leading scorers with 12 points apiece.
