NLB MATCH OF THE ROUND: Classic in Tivoli – Cedevita Olimpija host Cibona

2026/27 AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season Group A, Round 2, Saturday, 3 October 2026:

CEDEVITA OLIMPIJA – CIBONA

Where? Tivoli Sports Hall, Ljubljana

When? 17:00

Story of the game: One of the three opening games of the Saturday’s AdmiralBet ABA League schedule is a true classic, as Cedevita Olimpija will be hosting Cibona at home in their legendary Tivoli Sports Hall in Ljubljana.

A lot of unforgettable memories connect Tivol Sports Hall, Cedevita Olimpija and Cibona throughout the histories of both clubs and right at the start of the 2026/27 AdmiralBet ABA League season campaign, they get to face each other again on the same court.

Cedevita Olimpija are entering the AdmralBet ABA League season after a defeat in the Slovenian Super Cup against Krka and a first-round close defeat on the road in Spain vs. San Pablo Burgos in the BKT EuroCup. On the other hand, Cibona have played two games in the domestic championship so far, and scored two wins.

Cedevita Olimpija, as always, carry great ambitions alongside them, while Cibona, on the other hand, having returned to the AdmiralBet ABA League after a year of absence, wish to demonstrate that they are capable of making an impact immediately amongst the regional elite.

Can they do it right away in the first game, or will Cedevita Olimpija triumph on home court?

Match-up in focus: Perhaps the key match-up of the game can be the one between guards Anthony Cowan and Rickey McGill. Both of them are the newcomers in their respective squads and we need to wait and see how they fit in and who can be the one to take his team to the precious win at the start of the AdmiralBet ABA League season!

Head-to-head score in ABA: In total 10:2; in Ljubljana 5:1.
