Following an extensive evaluation and selection process, the ABA League Refereeing Commission has completed the first phase of forming the officiating structure for the 2026/27 season.

A total of 77 referee applications were received through the open call, from which 31 referees were selected for the current referee list. For Round 2, the Refereeing Commission has appointed 26 referees.

In addition, the lists of other game officials have also been finalized, comprising 38 delegates and 14 observers, completing the operational structure required for the organization and supervision of ABA League competitions.

The evaluation and selection process was carried out in accordance with the newly adopted Rules on the Operation of the ABA League Officiating Department, with the aim of establishing a strong, professional and sustainable officiating structure for the season ahead.

The ABA League Officiating Department will operate in the following composition:

Refereeing Commission President: Miguel A. Pérez

Supervisors: Dragan Nešković and Aleksandar Milojević

Secretary: Vladan Šundić

Round 2 will also mark a special moment for the competition, as for the first time since 2015, a female referee will officiate an ABA League game. She has been appointed to the officiating crew for the Vienna – U-BT Cluj-Napoca game.

The Refereeing Commission will continue to monitor, evaluate and develop the officiating structure throughout the season, with particular emphasis on consistency, education and the implementation of clearly defined officiating criteria.
