Game recap: In the Round 2 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season, Zadar prevailed over SC Derby at home in their Krešimir Ćosić Arena in Zadar. On the wings of 2000-strong crowd, the squad led by their new head coach Stipe Modrić, achieved their first win in their first appearance. On the other side, SC Derby are leaving Dalmatia empty-handed and will need to keep grinding to get on the winning track in the following rounds.

Key moments: SC Derby won the opening quarter by 6 points (18:24), but Zadar turned things upside-down in the second quarter. The last time that SC Derby was in front was at the score of 36:37 with a bit more than 2 minutes to go in the second quarter. That’s when Zadar went on a 9:0 run, that gave them an 8-point lead (45:37) with a minute left in the first quarter. As it turned out, this was enough for them to turn the game in their favour, as SC Derby did not manage to make it anybody’s game again later in the game.

Man of the match: Ivan Vraneš dominated the paint and was the key to Zadar’s win. He ha 14 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and a valuation of 20 on his record. He is our man of the match!

Can’t trick the stats: SC Derby might have been a better of two sides when it comes to field goal percentage, and the two squads might have been tied when it comes to rebounding (32:32), but while Zadar had 9 turnovers, SC Derby had no less than 20. This was simply too many to get away from Višnjik with a win.
