Game recap: BC Vienna defeated Zadar 78:63 in Round 4 of the AdmiralBet ABA League, controlling the game after a competitive opening quarter and maintaining a double-digit advantage throughout much of the second half.

Zadar started well and took an early 9:3 lead, but Grant Sherfield helped the home side respond, scoring eight of Vienna’s first 11 points. The visitors briefly remained in front at 18:15 following a three-pointer by Klarica, before Vienna finished the opening quarter with a 22:21 advantage.
The hosts gradually established control in the second period, building a 10-point lead at 38:28. Zadar reduced the deficit before halftime, with Drežnjak hitting a three-pointer to help his team head into the break trailing 40:34.

Vienna increased the gap after halftime, capitalizing on Zadar’s continued difficulties in front of the basket. The home side took a 61:48 lead into the final quarter, leaving the visitors with a difficult task. Zadar could not find a way back into contention, as Vienna maintained its advantage to secure a 78:63 victory.

Key moments: The decisive stretch came in the third quarter, when Vienna turned its six-point halftime lead into a 13-point advantage. The hosts outscored Zadar 21:14 in the period, repeatedly extending the margin to as many as 14 points. With the visitors unable to make significant inroads in the final quarter, Vienna comfortably saw out the game.

Man of the Match: Grant Sherfield led all scorers with 17 points, adding one rebound and two three-pointers made. His early scoring helped Vienna recover from Zadar’s strong start and establish momentum in the opening quarter.

Can't Trick the Stats: Shooting efficiency proved a major difference between the teams. BC Vienna converted 53% of its field-goal attempts, while Zadar managed just 33%. That 20-percentage-point gap was reflected in the final score, as Vienna consistently found ways to score while Zadar struggled to generate enough offense to challenge the hosts.
