Christian Koloko is the latest addition to the Crvena zvezda Meridianbet roster!

The former Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies center is set to arrive in Belgrade and strengthen the team's frontcourt after completing his medical examinations. Despite attracting interest from numerous EuroLeague clubs, Koloko has decided to make the red-and-whites the first European destination of his career.

Standing 211 centimeters tall, Christian Koloko was born in Douala, Cameroon, but took all the major steps in his basketball development in the United States. He first attended two high schools in California before spending three years at the University of Arizona, one of the most prestigious basketball programs in the NCAA.

Koloko was selected by the Toronto Raptors in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft. He later played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs and Atlanta Hawks, as well as their affiliated NBA G League teams.

During his college career, Koloko established himself as an elite defender, outstanding rebounder and shot-blocker. His defensive qualities were recognized when he was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year while playing for Arizona.

Despite his height, Koloko is exceptionally mobile and capable of switching onto much smaller players. His impressive wingspan of nearly 230 centimeters also makes him a formidable presence in the paint, particularly when protecting the rim.

With his arrival at Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, Koloko will increase competition at the center position while providing a significant boost to the team's defensive capabilities.

Kristijan Koloko novo je pojačanje KK Crvena zvezda Meridianbet!

Bivši centar Toronta, LA Lejkersa i Memfisa stiže u Beograd i pojačaće centarsku liniju Zvezde nakon obavljenih lekarskih pregleda. Iako su za njegove usluge bili zainteresovani brojni evroligaški klubovi, odlučio je da crveno-beli budu prva evropska stanica u njegovoj karijeri.

Kristijan Koloko je visok 211 centimetara, rođen je u Kamerunu (Duala), ali je sve značajnije košarkaške korake pravio u SAD - prvo kao član dve srednje škole u Kaliforniji, a onda i kroz trogodišnji boravak na Arizoni, jednom od prestižnih NCAA košarkaških programa.

Tokom 2022. godine izabran je na draftu kao pik druge runde od strane Toronto Reptorsa, a kasnije je nastupao i za LA Lejkerse, Memfis, San Antonio i Atlantu, kao i za njihove timove u G ligi.

Još tokom nastupa na koledžu profilisao se kao elitni defanzivac, izvanredan skakač i bloker, o čemu govori i nagrada najboljeg defanzivca PAC 12 divizije u kojoj je nastupao i tim Arizone.

Koloko je izuzetno pokretan za svoju visinu, može da preuzima i znatno niže igrače, a u odbrani reketa i obruča pomaže mu i ogroman raspon ruku od skoro 230 centimetara.

Koloko će svojim dolaskom u KK Crvena zvezda Meridianbet pojačati konkurenciju na poziciji centra, ali i defanzivu tima.
