Sunday matinee in Belgrade – Crvena zvezda Meridianbet host Široki TT Kabeli

2026/27 AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season Group A, Round 6, Sunday, 1 October 2026:

CRVENA ZVEZDA MERIDIANBET – ŠIROKI TT KABELI

Where? Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall, Belgrade

When? 13:00

Story of the game: In the opening game of the Sunday’s AdmiralBet ABA League schedule, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet will be hosting Široki TT Kabeli at home in their Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall in Belgrade.

It’s a game of two squads, that are occupying the top of the standings of Group A after 4 rounds – together with Budućnost VOLI and Borac Mozzart – both of them with records of 3:1 after four games behind them.

However, the difference is that while Zvezda have suffered a defeat in the opening round against FMP, and have ever since won 3 games in a row, Široki have lost their first game of the season last round, as they fell against Slovan Bratislava at home in Pecara.

Traditionally speaking, it will be a tough game for Široki TT Kabeli, as they have never ever celebrated against Crvena zvezda Meridianbet on the road before in the AdmiralBet ABA League. Nothing is impossible, when it comes down to sports, though, so tune in on Sunday to watch the Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall showdown and enjoy the game.

Match-up in focus: Jared Butler meets Tayler Persons! The duel of two excellent guards might be a crucial one this time, as Butler has been leading Crvena zvezda Meridianbet in scoring so far this season, with an average of 16.3 points per game and on the other side, we have Persons as a second-leading scorer and top passer of Široki TT Kabeli, with an average of 17.8 points and 6.5 assists per game.

Head-to-head score in ABA: In total 16:6; in Belgrade 11:0.
