One year ago, on January 20, 2021 Hadžibegović suffered a bad knee injury that put him off court for almost the entire year. Still, SC Derby player managed to fully recover and to make his 2021/22 season debut just before the New Year, while today, almost exactly one year after that horrible injury, he was one of the heroes of SC Derby in their win over Split.

Key moments: The two teams were all tied at 68:68, with less than 2 minutes remaining on the game clock. And, that is when SC Derby started their decisive 8:0 run that brought them the win. Nikola Pavlićević firstly scored a very difficult 3-pointer for 71:68. After that, Pavlićević found Emir Hadžibegović wide open in the corner and today’s hero Hadžibegović drained a big three to double the lead for his team – 74:68. Finally, after making a defensive rebound, Kenan Kamenjaš went coast-to-coast for an easy dunk to complete this key 8:0 run for SC Derby.
Man of the match: This was definitely the night of Emir Hadžibegović. Apart from everything that we have previously mentioned, he was also the top scorer of his team in this game with 12 points.
