The Panthers want to pick up where they left off in the previous season in which they reached the Playoffs of the regional league.

FMP Meridian was one of the teams that marked the first decade of the ABA League as they claimed two regional championships back in 2004 and 2006. After winning their last title, the Panthers went on to qualify for the ABA League Final Tournaments/Playoffs both in 2007 and 2008, but at that time no one could have imagined that their 2008 Playoffs participation would be their last for years to come.

For 14 years, FMP Meridian haven’t felt the ABA Playoffs thrill, but that long wait was finally ended last season when young head coach Nenad Stefanović and his players made a truly amazing achievement by claiming the 6th place on the standings and reaching the Playoffs.

And now, FMP Meridian want to repeat that success.

The Panthers have kept most of the members of the last-season squad. Most importantly, they kept their head coach Nenad Stefanović who made great results already in his first ever season in AdmiralBet ABA League.

Stefanović won’t be able to count on his star player from the 2021/22 campaign Bryce Jones who left the club, while he also stayed without some other important players like Marko Radonjić, Danilo Tasić and Garrett Nevels. But, some new faces have arrived to the club and they should add new strength to the squad.

FMP Meridian signed former University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign player Trent Freizer as new point guard, while they also added former Crvena zvezda mts player and 2-time ABA League champion Charles Jenkins to the new squad. The Panthers also penned deals with power forward Beau Beech and Lithuanian sharp shooter Paulius Valinskas, while their final signing so far this summer was 2017 ABA League MVP Nikola Janković who will strengthen the center’s position.

On top of that, FMP Meridian have continued giving a chance to young players, so they added three very talented players to the 2022/23 squad - Luka Vudragović, Ognjen Matović and Andrija Vuković.

Together with the players who remained from the last-season roster like Nenad Nerandžić. Ebuka Izundu, Marko Pavićević, Aleksa Strepanović and others, this team can definitely make some noise in the 2022/23 AdmiralBet ABA League campaign.
