Game recap: In the 15th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League season, Cedevita Olimpija have prevailed over Split on their home court in Stožice Arena. For the Dragons of Ljubljana, this is the 9th consecutive win in the regional competition and the one, that puts them on a 12:2 record, which is the club’s best start to the regional league season since the 2001/02 season, when they have opened the competition with a 13:1 record. This way, the Ljubljana side will position themselves just below the very top of the standings after 15 rounds and they keep aiming for the top of the standings in Regular Season. On the other side, Split are now on a 5:10 record and they need to keep struggling in order to be able to secure their goal – reaching the Playoffs of the 2022/23 AdmiralBet ABA League season.

It has been a historic appearance for Split’s Dominik Mavra, who dished out 6 assists, which allowed him to move one place up in the all-time AdmiralBet ABA League assists made rankings. He moved past Miljan Pavković and is now in the seventh place in the leaderboard wih 651 assists.

Key moments: As Lovre Runjić scored a three-pointer to set the score after 3 quarters, Cedevita Olimpija have only been in front by 5 points (80:75). However, that’s when the Dragons started their 8:0 run, that lasted for 2 minutes and a half in the final quarter, that took them ahead by 13 points (88:75). These turned out to be the key moments, as Split did not manage to bounce back again until the end of the game.

Man of the match: Alen Omić has been the dominant force for Cedevita Olimpija, on their way towards the win against Split in Stožice. He had 21 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and a valuation of 39 on his record. He is our man of the match! With no less than 12 offensive rebounds made, Alen Omić has made the second-best all-time achievement of any player in the AdmiralBet ABA League, together with Wane Soulymane and Uroš Luković. Only Mario Kasun grabbed more, in 2012 in the game of his Zagreb against Radnički, when he grabbed 14 offensive rebounds.

Can’t trick the stats: Cedevita Olimpija have outrebounded Split 39:27 and that’s what turned the flow of the game their way!
