Filip Petrušev shines as Crvena zvezda Meridianbet beat Split in Belgrade
Crvena zvezda Meridianbet have extended their home-court winning streak against Split as they prevailed over the Yellow crew in Round 26 of the 2022/23 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season.

Game recap: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet have extended their home-court winning streak against Split as they prevailed over the Yellow crew in Round 26 of the 2022/23 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season.
This was the 10th consecutive home-court win for the red-and-whites against Split in the regional league, yet this one was very hard to achieve as the visitors presented an excellent performance tonight in Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall.
For three quarters we watched a big battle down on the court, while Crvena zvezda Meridianbet had just a 2-point lead ahead of the final 10 minutes – 63:61. But then the home team made a 14:0 run early in the 4th quarter to gain a double-digit lead and to definitely break the resistance of the away team.
Crvena zvezda Meridianbet have therefore improved their season score to 21-3 and they are still in the race for the top spot in the regular season. On the other side, after losing the game in Belgrade, Split have lost all chances of reaching the Playoffs.
Key moments: The 4th quarter started with two points for the both sides – 65:63, while then the red-and-whites turned on their engines and made the key 14:0 run to escape to a 16-point lead – 79:63.
It all started with Filip Petrušev’s dunk for 67:63. Then Nemanja Nedović made a lay-up for 69:63, while after that Luca Vildoza hit his first and only 3-pointer today for 72:63.
After the time-out called by Split, Stefan Marković scored a tough buzzer-beating jumper for 74:63, while then Nemanja Nedović drained a 3-pointer to increase Zvezda’s lead to 77:63. Finally, Dalibor Ilić completed this 14:0 run with a dunk – 79:63.
Man of the match: Filip Petrušev was all over the court today. He scored 25 points and made 6 rebounds and 4 assists, while his overall index rating was 36. This was his best performance in the ongoing AdmiralBet ABA League season so far!
Can’t trick the stats: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet had more rebounds and assists than their rivals today, but the only thing that actually made the difference in this match was that 14:0 run in the 4th quarter.
